Welcome everyone to the InkMind website! After months of work, we are here, ready to collab and accept works. At the moment the website, as you can see, is empty. However, don’t fret, during the coming weeks we will fill our menus with more and more interesting readables.
But for those who are just discovering our website, here are some FAQs and answers.
Who are ‘we’?
InkMind is currently ran by three people.
Firstly we have Venar Marton (she/her) author, co-owner of Alfa Publishing House (the publisher behind InkMind).
I am Natália or Lia (she/they), author, creative writing and English literature graduate, co-owner of Alfa Publishing House – if you see a post written by InkMind, that will always be me.
And last but not least Janka (she/her), author, artist, archeologist, co-podcaster.
What do we do at InkMind?
We created a community platform for authors and artists of all kind, who are struggling to find a free platform to post their works on. We understand that not everyone is able to create their own website or able to afford hosting. Traditional publishing can also be discriminative and extremely difficult to get into, unless you already have a network you can rely on. This is why we created InkMind, to be a platform for the opressed, forgotten artists, who are trying to put their art out into the world, as well as for any new emerging artist, to help them lift off and soar.
Why InkMind?
I came up with InkMind during my university years and asked a graphic designer artist friend to create the logo for me. From the idea of a simple blog emerged what we have today.
What else does InkMind do?
The InkMind team also provides publishing services through our mother company Alfa Publishing House. This publisher is registered in England for a simple reason. All of us are from a European Union country with an opressive government and strict, unreasonable censure laws. We would not be able to or be allowed to publish works in our own language due to this censure. Therefore, we established a publisher in England as Venar currently resides there and I used to live there for over 8 years. This way we can ensure that our community members who publish will not face unfair censure and are free to write whatever they wish within freedom of speech laws.
Beside the publishing service, InkMind also runs a Twitch and YouTube channel. On Twitch I play video games while focusing on alaysing the story of the game from a literary perspective.
On YouTube and in the Podcast menu you can find the TintaSzáj podcast. Janka and I run this Hungarian language podcast, where we talk about various themes through the lense of literature or with the help of an example book.
For our community we also created a Discord server, where you can get together and discuss any topic, share your work and feedback on each-other’s work, and just to have some community fun. The link to the server can be found by clicking on the Discord icon at the bottom of the page.
How can I be part of the InkMind community?
If you wish to publish with us, either on the website or in physical form, please contact us using the e-mail icon at the bottom of the page. From there we will get in touch with you and discuss how we can help you realise your art.
What if I am scared to publish, because of my own country’s censure?
Artists in the InkMind community have the option to publish anonymously. We have a clear, concise contract, where we ensured that your anonimity is part of the deal. We only release your information if it is legally required of us.
Is there AI art on InkMind?
Absolutely not. In the InkMind community we belive that human art is irreplaceable, unique and must be celebrated. We support artists who create their work without using AI. The use of AI is monitored and we always ensure that works that are published by us were created by humans.
Thank you everyone for visiting our website! Please check out our Twitch and YouTube channels and subsribe to keep updated with InkMind content.
